Benefit

  • The heart of the SAP EH&S solution is a specifications database that stores real substances, preparations, mixtures, and different types of exposure such as noise or heat. If the basic conditions under which the data was entered change, the back office system of TechniData BCS maintains the data and updates the entries at BayWa automatically.
  • What´s more, the specifications database contains information on hazardous substances and dangerous goods classifications, which TechniData provides and continually updates.
  • The information on occupational safety and environmental protection stored centrally in the specifications database, which contains data on more than 10,000 hazardous substances, can be accessed by all employees at all BayWa locations. The user-friendly search and output functions make it easier and more efficient than ever before to access the right information.
  • The solution provides BayWa with a preconfigured hazardous substances register, which TechniData maintains and updates.
  • When an order or delivery is created, the TechniData component for dangerous goods management checks immediately whether a particular dangerous good may be transported using the planned means of transportation, and takes into account prohibitions on mixed loading as well as packaging and identification information.
  • However, TechniData solutions don´t just simplify logistics, they also lower the administration workload for hazardous substances administrators and occupational safety experts as they can quickly create detailed reports to document their activities.
  • For instance, a hazardous substances register can now be created in 15 to 30 minutes, whereas previously the same task took up to five working days to complete.
